Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the client’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
The Japanese word Reiki means universal energy. Eastern medicine systems work with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to wellbeing. The energy is known as ‘Ki’ in Japan, ‘Chi’ in China and ‘Prana’ in India. Reiki isn’t part of any type of religion or belief system. It is best described as hands on healing used as a complementary therapy.
As a Reiki practitioner, I aim to change and balance the energy fields in and around your body to help on a physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual level.
A complete 60 minute Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed recipient lying on a treatment table.
I am a member of the Reiki Academy London, and I am fully insured.
Reiki is offered through light; non-invasive touch with the practitioner’s hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head, front and back of the torso. The placement of the hands will never be intrusive or inappropriate, nor will there be any pressure. This will be discussed and demonstrated before the session begins. Your comfort is of paramount importance.
Additional placements on the limbs can be done as needed (for example, if there is an injury or surgical scar). I can hold my hands just off the body if needed/preferred (for example, in the presence of an open wound or burn). Some practitioners always offer Reiki in this way.
Treatments are offered from a quiet, dedicated treatment room within my family home.
Treatments are carried out on a comfortable treatment couch, soothing music, soft lighting and refreshments available if required.
Alternatively I can bring my treatment couch to your home (location depending, additional charge of £5)
